Last week, as part of my series on psychic abilities I discussed the precognitor. This is the type of psychic with the ability to predict possible future events. And I talked a bit about how that ability does and doesn’t work and how unreliable those predictions can often be. This week, I thought I’d write about the opposite type of ability found in psychic phenomenon with those known as a recognitor. This is of course the one that is near and dear to my heart, as my own strongest psychic powers lie within the power of recognition.
A recognitor is a psychic with the ability to see into the past and connect with information concerning the former lives of deceased individuals. Often information produced by a recognitor is so strong that it can easily be proven through historical records. In other words, a powerful recognitor can regularly divine reliable information about the dead. Usually they are only given a small object or tiny bit of information about a person and are able to tap into the events of their past life. Through psychic visions or deep meditation, the recognitor is able to produce facts, figures, places and dates concerning the person in question, sometimes with stunning results. If you’ve ever seen the Court TV show Psychic Detectives, this is the ability shared between most if not all who practice this craft.
While we’re on that subject, you might ask why any self-respecting police force in America would hire a psychic. Well, often they have tried everything else. And when a case becomes cold as its known in the business, there is frequently no lead left to chase, no stone left unturned and no avenue for the authorities to solve the case. It is then and usually only then that a law enforcement agency will solicit information from a psychic. Those of us that work in this industry have come to accept that. But it is through our psychic divination that new information can come forward and turn such a cold case into a fresh investigation. And that’s why they use us.
Now, often people confuse a recognitor with a medium and this is pretty understandable. But recognition is very different from the powers displayed by a medium. Recognitors are not able to speak to a dead person or channel their thoughts. Instead, they merely pick up on echos of the past or sense imprints of past events and actions through their visions. A medium actually speaks to a deceased person or invokes the spirit of the dead through the use of their own body. So, the two are completely different yet often confused.
In my own work as a psychic investigator, I call on the power of recognition myself. Those of us that are employed as this type of psychic detective work legally as private eyes. But it is the way we look for evidence that separates us from the rest of the gumshoes and Mickey Spillane types. I often request an object previously owned by the dead or missing person, similar to what is used with bloodhounds or trained canines. By forming a connection with that object, I am able to trans locate some of the interactions the person in question has had with it. Since I was in my early twenties, my psychic ability has allowed me to take myself out of the present and thrust myself into the past. It is through this process that I am able to see events that have happened before through recognition.
Another method we recognitors use is to go to a place that has had a historical significance to the missing or dead individual. By visiting hallowed ground, we get a sense for this person we are trying to psychically investigate and how they were related to the location. This is often their house, workplace, favorite park or any other spot where they spent a majority of their time. By experiencing a place where a person spent a lot of time, recognitors are able to get a strong imprint of the subject in question. It is through this activity that we are able to key in on their habits and potential actions and gain knowledge about what might have lead to their downfall. It is a case of walk a mile in another man’s shoes nine times out of ten.
While some recognitors have the ability to look far into the past, others can merely see days, weeks or months out at best. I have found the only difference between the two is their level of personal training. It is my belief that everyone born with this type of ability comes to this life with a similar level of psychic power and that it simply comes down to working on honing that skill. Practice makes perfect, after all. This shouldn’t surprise anyone. The Canadian journalist Malcolm Gladwell once suggested in his book Outliers that if you want to become good at something that you should spend 10,000 hours of practice at whatever that is. And while this has been up for great debate, I think its quite true. Now, you would need to start with some level of psychic ability from the onset or else you’d probably just be wasting 10,000 hours of your life. But if you are born with a slight psychic ability you should consider putting it into practice. You may find you possess a truly remarkable skill that you never knew you had.
Finally, some recognitors report the ability of ultra-dimensional sight where they claim they can see the lives of an individual throughout multiple dimensions. Personally, I’ve never seen evidence that this is anything but a ruse. And its not that I don’t think that other dimensions in fact exist, but I believe in 100% of the cases where I’ve seen a psychic espousing this type of ability its being used merely to separate fools from their money. Anyone trying to tell you what you’re doing in another dimension and how that will effect you here in this one is probably out to get you. Be warned.
What’s your impression of the recognitor? Ever had an experience with one? Leave me a comment below and let me know what you think. I’d love to hear from you.
